With its pedagogy originally rooted in Scandinavia, Forest Schools have a holistic-growth approach that places the child at the centre f the learning process with regular sessions taking place in natural environments.
In nature, children get to play, learn, develop their senses and body awareness, while understanding the world around them, in a more conscious and organic way.
We offer weekly visits to the local Forestry Commission woods for our wonderful Forest School sessions delivered by trained educators.
Dance is an art form. It can be studied and learned and at a certain level requires technique and skill. Yet, to dance is also instinctively human. Dance expresses feelings, tells stories, demonstrates strength and power, connects people, creates ritual and celebration and, like art and music, it communicates individual and collective experience in a way that words sometimes can't.
It is intrinsically linked to our early physical development, as young children experiment with movement responses to the stimulus of the world around them.
Through jumping, wiggling, waving and bobbing, even babies and toddlers use dance as a way to develop their large and small-motor skills. Plus, it's super fun!
