Working families could be eligible for up to 30 hours of funding per week for 38 weeks of the year. Both parents should be in work for at least 16 hours per week, each earning at least National Minimum Wage up to £100,000 per annum. Parents may also be eligible if one parent is working and the other is in receipt of Incapacity Benefit, Severe Disablement Allowance, Carer’s Allowance, Employment & Support Allowance or is on Maternity/Paternity Leave. Funding is provided by the Government for 38 weeks of the year, this equates to a maximum of 570 hours in a full academic year. The remaining 13 weeks of the year are NOT funded.
At Jack and Jill’s Nursery School, we apply the funded entitlement for babies as a stretched offer only over 51 weeks. This means eligible families can claim a maximum of 22 hours per week. Parents will be able to claim up to 10 hours of funding per day.
At Jack and Jill’s Nursery School, we offer the funded entitlement for two and three year olds as a stretched offer over 51 weeks (22 hours per week) OR term time only (up to 30 hours per week). Funded hours will be available between 8.00am – 11.00am and 1.00pm – 4.00pm for the stretched offer, or 9.00am – 3.00pm for the term time only offer. Children attending their funded hours on a term time only contract who also attend for additional privately funded hours will be charged for their wrap around hours in the holiday times.
Please note: ALL children are eligible for 15 hours of government funding the term after their third birthday regardless of income.
Applications for all funding support can be made through www.beststartinlife.gov.uk
Government funding covers the core elements of childcare only.
For our funded places there is a ‘Sustainability Contribution and Consumables Charge’ (SCCC) which is in line with our nursery policy. The SCCC is charged at a rate of £1.68 per funded hour on all funded hours claimed across the nursery and covers a variety of additional extras that are not included in the ‘core elements’. Should you wish to opt out of the SCCC charges, please inform the nursery manager and complete an ‘Opt Out’ agreement.
